Sadoski started his stage career in the theatre, working as an understudy for Mark Ruffalo (Mark Rosenthal) in the Off Broadway production at the Second Stage Theatre of Kenneth Lonergan's critically acclaimed show This is Our Youth. [3] It marked the first of many productions with the theatre company based in New York. He has participated in many Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, as well being in productions at regional theatres. In 2008, he originated the part of Greg in Neil LaBute's play Reasons to be pretty for MCC Theatre alongside The Newsroom co-star Alison Pill. It was an acclaimed Off-Broadway play that was a huge success and sold out. In April of 2009, it moved to Broadway and received three Tony Award nominations: Best Actor: Sadoski; Best Actress: Marin Ireland; Best Play; and three Drama Desk Award nominations: Best Actor, Best Director Terry Kinney and Best Actor. [6] Neil LaBute gives credit to Sadoski for his noted shift in the tone of being pretty that was inspired by his earlier plays. "His personal sensitivity, good heart and help me not to rely on anything I've previously done," he said. My plays usually end darkly. I've always thought that this was real life, that there were always shades of gray. However, He helped me to see other colors in the palette." He played the character of Trip Wyeth, Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. For this role, he won an Obie Award as well as an Lucille Lortel Award. After a sold-out Off-Broadway run in November 2011 the play was moved to Broadway and was given the award of the title of Outstanding New Off-Broadway performance by the Outer Critics Circle. Sadoski, Ben Stiller, Edie Failco Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alison Pill and Alison Pill were also seen on Broadway in John Guare's House of Blue Leaves.
