
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1Bellamy Young is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama show Scandal (2012-2018). In recognition of her performance, she got the Critics' choice Television Award for the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2014. In addition, she starred on the Fox show Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young started her career as an actor with theatre. In 1997 Young made her Broadway debut as Mary in the initial The Life cast. The Life. [8][9] She has also played off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's music production Merrily we Roll Along (1994) and in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] She first appeared on TV in 1995, in the role of Dr. Courtney Evans, in her role as a frequent guest on the NBC soap opera Another World.
