Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - is a Canadian and American singer/songwriter. There are more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk-rock and alternative rock but includes influences from punk funk hip beat and jazz. A feminist icon widely recognized as Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement and is among the first musicians to launch her own record label in 1990. DiFranco's parents, Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each other while they were both attending. Her father is Italian heritage, while her mother is from Montreal. Ani Difrasco composed and recorded the hit song "32 Flavors".
